Engineering Shift Managers

Using great management, communication and organisational skills, our Shift Engineering Managers help us Feed the Nation by getting the best out of their teams on each and every shift.

It’s all about finding ways to improve performance, maintain quality, and keep our teams of Engineers motivated, by minimising machinery downtime and making sure we get the most from our resources.

And then there’s management of crisis incidents, investigations into near misses, and all  kinds of standards to meet. And because it’s a real hands-on role, our Engineering Shift Managers roll up their sleeves and get involved in repair work, too.

Our manufacturing sites are complex and fast moving, which means it’s important that we have a strong Engineering team that’s on the ball and able to keep up. 

What you’ll need

To join us as an Engineering Shift Manager, you’ll need:

• Qualifications to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (such as ONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering). 
• A proven track record in an engineering and fault finding role gained from a FMCG environment, ideally the food industry.
• A background in people management where you’ve delivered strong results through a team.
• A good understanding of HACCP principles and preferably IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations.   
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to make important decisions on the spot.
• A can do attitude, a strong work ethic, and ability to match the pace of our site.
