We're Hiring! Our Manufacturing and Logistics sites have lots of opportunities with various shifts, full time or part time, permanent and temporary!
Find out moreThe unique communities we serve have never been more important to us. Inside our business we’re working hard to make sure we represent them. While on the outside we’re doing everything we can to Feed the Nation and make sure the most vulnerable members of our society can get the food they need.
It means our sector-leading Community and Charity team is a busy, fast moving, and exciting place to be. Day to day, it's responsible for developing the national initiatives and frameworks we use to support our stores to deliver outstanding community services. That involves looking after a range of national and strategic charity partnerships, plus our Morrisons Foundation community grants scheme.
And at the same time, it's about working closely with departments from across our business to land new projects that make a difference to the communities and charities that are close to our hearts.
Three workstreams, three different challenges
Our Community and Charity team is made up of three workstreams.
Our Charity workstream consists of Leadership roles as well as Managers, Specialists and Degree Apprentices, and is responsible for managing our charity partnerships and campaigns, as well as guiding our stores on their local fundraising activities. One of our proudest achievements is raising over £12m for CLIC Sargent to support young cancer patients and their families since 2017.
Our Community workstream focuses on helping our stores and sites play active roles in their local communities. We have a field team of 17 Community Coaches who support and coach our amazing team of 498 Community Champions - one for each store. Our Community Champions manage a collective local giving budget of £1.3m to help them respond to the specific needs of their local community, with food donations, volunteering of time, and fundraising
Finally, we launched our Morrisons Foundation workstream in 2015 to manage our grants programme and colleague matched funding, and it has already donated over £30m to all kinds of charities.
Who we’re looking for
To join the team, you’ll need strong communication, listening and planning skills, a positive and energetic approach, and an ability to take the initiative and think outside the box.
But what’s really important is that everyone on the team is passionate about making a real difference to the communities we serve. And for doing the right thing for everyone.
